Rural households can combine their heating oil orders to seek a better bulk price, without having to negotiate with suppliers individually.
Save time and buy together
The CDA Herts Community Oil Buying scheme brings orders together so that a price can be negotiated in bulk. When an order window opens, members tell the scheme how much oil they need. You arrange delivery and pay the supplier directly.
How it works
- Join the scheme through OFPS and quote CDA Herts.
- When an order window opens, tell the scheme how much oil you need.
- Orders are combined and a bulk price is negotiated.
- Arrange delivery and pay the supplier directly.
The scheme aims to save you time comparing suppliers and to offer a competitive price through collective buying. Savings depend on the price available when you order.
Membership and a member’s experience
Household membership is £24 per year.
“I have just saved over £313 on my first order with the scheme. I was a regular buyer with one supplier who would have charged me 19.89p per litre higher than the group price. Not a bad return for £24 membership.”
