Community Development Action Hertfordshire
Organise a Walk in Your Village
Organise a walk in your village
Bring your community together. Every Village Has a Voice.
25 November–10 December 2026
Villages and local communities across Hertfordshire are invited to organise a walk as part of the 2026 16 Days of Action campaign.
Your walk will help raise awareness of domestic abuse, make routes to support more visible and show that rural communities are willing to start difficult but important conversations.
Start with an expression of interest
You do not need to have a route, date or organising team confirmed before contacting us.
Registering your interest does not commit you to organising a walk. It gives CDA Herts an opportunity to contact you, talk through the idea and explain the support available.
What organising a village walk involves
A community-organised walk can be simple, local and shaped around your village. It can be as short or as long as suits your community. A walk around the village green is just as valid as a longer countryside route.
Who can organise a walk?
You do not need to represent a large organisation or already hold a formal community role.
A village walk could be organised by:
What CDA Herts will provide
CDA Herts will provide a shared campaign framework while allowing each community to shape its own walk.
What the local organiser will arrange
The local organiser will remain responsible for the practical delivery of their walk, including:
CDA Herts will explain these responsibilities and the available support before you decide whether to proceed.
Take part in the campaign
Register your interest in organising a village walk or ask us to notify you when walks are announced.
You can select the option that interests you within the form. Registering an interest in organising a walk does not create any immediate commitment.
