Job Title: Rural Housing & Infrastructure Enabler ~ £28,000 p/a

Join CDA Herts as our new Rural Housing & Infrastructure Enabler and help tackle the growing need for rural affordable housing and infrastructure. You’ll work directly with communities to bring forward local solutions – ensuring that villages remain vibrant, inclusive, and sustainable places to live.

Affordable and social housing is urgently needed to enable people to stay in the village – whether they’re young adults, families, or older residents looking to downsize.

Main Tasks

• 🏡 Support, advise and guide communities and their councils from first interest through to completion.
• 📋 Undertake housing needs surveys and present findings to parish councils and residents.
• 📣 Raise awareness by attending local meetings and community events.
• 🤝 Develop relationships with communities, councils, housing associations, planners, and developers.
• 🎓 Deliver training to community stakeholders on rural housing and infrastructure.
• 📝 Create engaging content – case studies, website updates, and social media posts.
• 🌍 Attend ACRE events and share insights with the CDA Herts team.
• 💡 Prepare grant applications for housing, sustainability, digital and transport needs.

Key Details

• 📆 Contract: Fixed term to 31st March 2026
• 📍 Location: Hybrid – primarily home-based, with travel across Hertfordshire
• ⏰ Hours: 35 per week (may include evenings and weekends)
• 🌴 Leave: 25 days plus bank holidays
