“Within the Walls” is a community project run by Down the Woods C. I. C, located at the Victorian Walled Garden at St. Paul’s Waldenbury near Hitchin.

This eighteenth century space has a new lease of life, providing schemes such as:

  • a well-being group that promotes the use of outdoors

  • various children and family events

  • rural courses such as hedge laying, hazel hurdling, and wood craft

  • a weekly gardening club, run by our friends at Plot 31, who supply local residential homes with flowers

  • fruit and vegetables used to supply the local food banks with fresh products
