| General Description | ||
| Background Information: Originally built in 1850 as a school, Park Hall was for many years allowed to deteriorate and consequently its use as a community building was diminished. In 1988 there was a proposal to demolish it and to sell the land, but because of the historic importance to Harpenden this proposal was rejected and instead the District Council placed a Conservation Order on the building. In 1994 Harpenden Town Council secured a lease for it to be used as a community hall and in 2012 successfully devolved the ownership of the hall back from St Albans District Council to the Town Council.
