“Sustainable development is about making sure that people throughout the world can satisfy their basic needs now, while making sure that future generations can also look forward to the same quality of life. Sustainable development recognises that the three ‘pillars’ – the economy, society and the environment – are interconnected.

…. Our long term economic growth relies on protecting and enhancing the environmental resources that underpin it, and paying due regard to social needs.” DEFRA 2011

CDA for Herts works towards sustainable development and tries to help communities ensure their own sustainability by assisting them to achieve a balance of the components that will help them thrive in the long term – such as a strong local economy, housing, transport, services; good governance; fairness; respect and a pleasant and safe environment.
