ACRE has today the 2nd July updated the Opening Your Hall After Lockdown documents which you can download below (the previous versions have been removed)

Please Note – The information Sheet and its appendices have been issued in anticipation that the coronavirus regulations will be amended by 4th July ready for halls to re-open on Saturday 4 July. ACRE has been working as far as possible with relevant Government departments so that hall managers have confidence they are working to “joined up” guidance. This second Issue aims to provide practical information to assist hall managers to comply with the Government Guidance for the safe use of multi-purpose community facilities issued on 30th June.

Govt Regulation regarding the re-opening of Public Buildings – update 15th June

The relevant amendment to Health Protection regulations from 15th June and in force until it is subsequently changed reads:

5. (7) A person who is responsible for a community centre must ensure that, during the emergency period, the community centre is closed except where it is used to provide

(a) essential voluntary activities or urgent public support services (including the provision of food banks or other support for the homeless or vulnerable people, blood donation sessions or support in an emergency), or

(b) for early years childcare provided by a person registered on the Early Years Register under Part 3 of the Childcare Act 2006.

(c) to host an indoor market

“Early years childcare” is defined as in the Childcare Act 2006 and means for children from birth to five years old.
